Mandhlazi Headlines 3 Lions on All-DAC Teams

Dallas College Mountain View men's basketball's Farai Mandhlazi was voted a First Team All-Dallas Athletic Conference selection.

Lions teammate Terry Moss III earned Second Team All-DAC honors, while Justice Marmara was an honorable mention recipient.

A freshman swingman from McKinney, Texas, Mandhlazi averaged 11.5 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game, while shooting 54.2 percent from the field. He scored in double figures in 20 games, including four in a row on three different occasions during the season. He had a season-high 24 points in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District quarterfinal win over Dallas College Brookhaven. Mandhlazi scored 20 or more points in four games, and had six double-doubles, including three in a row in February. He had a season-high 13 rebounds in a win over Southwestern Assemblies of God University Junior Varsity to mark the start of his three consecutive games with a double-double.  

A sophomore guard from North Richland Hills, Texas, Moss III averaged nine points and 2.5 assists per game, and shot 51.2 percent from the floor and 43.4 percent from three-point range. Moss scored in double figures in 12 games, including three stretches of three in a row. He scored 20 points in four games, including back-to-back contests in February. Moss hit eight field goals in four games, including an 8 of 8 performance against No. 2 nationally-ranked Dallas College North Lake Feb. 11.

A sophomore forward from Arlington, Texas, Marmara averaged 12.1 points, five rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals. He shot 52.7 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free throw line. Marmara scored in double figures in 21 games, including a run of four in a row. He had a season-high 30 points in a win over Dallas College Cedar Valley Feb. 18. He had a triple-double with 17 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in a win over Dallas-Fort Worth Prep Jan. 18. Marmara had four double-doubles.
