Mountain View Men's Hoops Returns to Court Tuesday on Road

DALLAS – Dallas College Mountain View men's basketball team returns to action Tuesday after the holiday break.

The Lions, who picked up votes in this week's National Junior College Athletic Association Division III rankings, will play at Southwestern Christian College 6 p.m. Tuesday, following the 25-day layoff.

Mountain View (10-7) won its final game before the holiday hiatus, 126-93, over Arlington Baptist University Red on Dec. 14. The Lions have won six of their past seven.

The Lions will open Dallas Athletic Conference play at Dallas College Eastfield 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20.

Freshman forward Joshua Smith is averaging 18.9 points and 10.5 rebounds. Freshman guard Doviyon Bradford is averaging 17.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.8 steals per game. Freshman guard Xavier Peyton is scoring 16.3 points per game, while shooting 44.3 percent from three-point range.

Freshman forward Cam Spencer is averaging 9.8 points and 9.7 rebounds. Freshman point guard Louis Conner leads the team in assists per game (8.2), while scoring 6.4 points per game.

Mountain View is 7-2 at home, and 3-5 on the road this season.
