Lions Pick up First DAC Victory, Beating Brookhaven on Road

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Dallas College Mountain View men's basketball team beat host Dallas College Brookhaven, 85-71, Wednesday night.

It was the Lions' first Dallas Athletic Conference win of the season.

Four starters scored in double figures for Mountain View (14-14, 1-8 DAC).

Doviyon Bradford finished with 23 points, seven rebounds, four steals, three assists and a block. Joshua Smith had 12 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks. It was his 16th double-double of the season. Evan Awodipe had 12 points and five boards, shooting 5 of 7 from the field. Xavier Peyton had 12 points and five steals. Bryant Smith scored 16 points on 7 of 14 shooting, and had five rebounds and two blocks off the bench.

Louis Conner had a season-high 16 assists, seven points, two steals and a block. It was the 11th time he's recorded double-digit assists.

The score was tied at halftime, 40-40, but Mountain View pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Bears, 45-31.

The Lions shot 49.3 percent, going 35 of 71. They were 12 of 17 at the free throw line.

Mountain View will host Dallas College Cedar Valley (8-17, 1-8) in the final regular season game 1 p.m. Saturday.
