
Baseball Opens Dallas Athletic Conference Play Wednesday
Dallas College Mountain View's baseball team will begin Dallas Athletic Conference action 12 p.m. Wednesday when the Lions visit the top-ranked team in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III preseason rankings.
Mountain View (3-5) meets Dallas College Eastfield (9-4) on its new turf field to open conference play. The Lions will host the Harvester Bees for a pair of games Friday and Saturday at noon to wrap up the first week of the DAC schedule.
Archie Beasley is hitting .438 with a double and four stolen bases for the Lions. Diego Saenz has two doubles and a home run in seven plate appearances. Keaton King is batting .400 with a double and seven runs batted in, which is tied with Quincy McGraw for the team lead. Devyn Pruneda has a triple and two RBI in six at-bats.
Tyler Devolder has not allowed a run in two appearances on the mound. Daniel Martinez has a 2.25 earned run average and six strikeouts in four innings pitched. Richard Garza has struck out eight hitters in nine innings, and has a 3.00 ERA. Julian Pokorny owns a 3.60 ERA and team-high 10 strikeouts in 10 innings pitched.
The Lions are coming off a 12-11 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God University Junior Varsity Monday.
