Lions Open Baseball Season Feb. 5

2024 Mountain View Baseball Schedule

DALLAS – Dallas College Mountain View's baseball team will open the season Feb. 5 at Tyler Junior College.

The Lions, under head coach Malcolm Walker, will host Texas Reds Post Grad in the home opener Feb. 8 as part of a four-game weekend homestand. Huston Tillotson University's Junior Varsity and Jarvis Christian University JV will also highlight the home-opening weekend.  

Mountain View is scheduled to play a 45-game schedule, including 21 at home. The Lions, which won a program-best 18 games under Walker last season, will follow up the first homestand with a couple tests against Angelina College (Feb. 19) and Cisco College (Feb. 26), along with road games at Hill College (Feb. 16) and LeTourneau University's JV (Feb. 20).

The Lions begin Dallas Athletic Conference play Feb. 28 at Dallas College Richland. The first home conference game is March 1 versus Richland. Following a pair of non-league games against John Melvin University JV and Louisiana Christian University JV March 4, the Lions play at Dallas College North Lake March 6 before hosting the Blazers March 8-9.

Mountain View will play 11 of its 14 games in March against a conference opponent. After a trip to Bossier Parish Community College March 11, the Lions return home to host Dallas College Cedar Valley two days later. They conclude the month with a three-game series against Dallas College Eastfield, the first game at home March 27.

The Lions meet Southwestern Assemblies of God University JV on the road to open April before finishing up the first round of DAC play with a three-game series against Dallas College Brookhaven, beginning with a road contest April 3. Mountain View plays at Angelina College April 15 in the final nonconference game. The Lions finish the month with a pair home games against Cedar Valley April 26-27.

Mountain View will finish the regular season with three of its six conference games at home in May. The final home game is May 8 against Brookhaven. The Lions conclude the regular season at Brookhaven May 11.
