Padilla Named Mountain View esports Coach

Leoh Padilla was named head esports coach at Dallas College Mountain View.

Padilla plans to coach FIFA, NBA 2K, Madden, Rocket League and Valorant titles, and possibly others based on interest on the Mountain View campus.

"I always wanted to be a part of the esports era," Padilla said. "I already am coaching sports, so why not virtual? I feel like it would help build me as a coach since the two areas are vastly different, but both entertaining."

An active gamer, Padilla coaches soccer, and has coached volleyball at Uplift North Preparatory in Irving.

Pa that students would want to wear our uniforms for large-scale events to start this movement of support for esports as well," Padilla said. "I also hope we take championships in popular titles to start a trophy case to show our achievements as a school and team."

Padilla is actively recruiting new esports gamers, and would like to meet in person with any prospective student-athletes. Students can attend any Dallas College campus, and compete in esports on any of the seven campuses if they enroll in at least 12 credit hours each semester, and maintain a 2.0 grade point average.

Interested students can contact Padilla at lpadilla@dallascollege.edu.
