Lions' Super Smash Bros off to Perfect Start as eSports Begins
DALLAS – Dallas College Mountain View's eSports team opened its season Tuesday.
The Lions will compete on seven Tuesdays throughout the Fall season in the Super Smash Brothers Ultimate competition. Bryan Marquez and Jan Marquez will represent the Lions under head coach Grant Brady.
In the first week of the season, Mountain View's Super Smash Brothers' duo each won a pair of matches. Bryan Marquez beat North Iowa Area Community College, 3-0, and Western Iowa Tech, 3-1. Jan Marquez had a bye and picked up a 3-1 win over Amarillo College.
The Lions will compete through Nov. 12 in the regular season. The National Junior College Athletic Association eSports playoffs will follow the regular season for gamers who qualify for the postseason.
