Lions Tame Bears for Second Straight DAC Win

Dallas College Mountain View men's basketball team won its second straight game Wednesday, beating Dallas College Brookhaven, 90-89, on the road.

Mountain View built a five-point halftime lead, and held on to win its second straight Dallas Athletic Conference game. The Lions beat Dallas College Cedar Valley, 92-85, four days earlier.

Five players scored in double figures for Mountain View (17-11, 2-7 DAC) in the win over Brookhaven. Gabe Acay had 20 points on 7 of 11 shooting. Johnny DeWalt, Farai Mandhlazi and Tommy Walton each scored 12 points. DeWalt had a team-high five rebounds, and Walton four. Terry Moss III had 10 points and three assists.

Curtis Trey Moffett finished with 21 points and seven rebounds for Brookhaven (9-16, 4-5). Dirk Falkenhagen scored 20 points, and grabbed five rebounds. Jackson Lino had 17 points and seven boards.

The Lions shot 35 of 74 (47.3 percent) from the field, and 9 of 17 (52.9 percent) from the three-point line. The Bears hit 35 of 70 (50 percent) of their field goals, but were limited to 7 of 20 (35 percent) from long distance.

Mountain View will host Dallas College Richland 1 p.m. Saturday to finish the regular season.
