Mountain View Meets Brookhaven 8 p.m. Tuesday in District Quarterfinals

NJCAA DIII South Central District Tournament Central

Dallas College Mountain View's men's basketball team will play Dallas College Brookhaven in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District quarterfinals 8 p.m. Tuesday at Dallas College Eastfield.

Mountain View (17-11) split with Brookhaven (9-17) during the regular season, each winning on the other team's home court. The Lions, who are the fifth seed in the six-team postseason tournament, beat the Bears, 90-89, Wednesday. Fourth-seeded Brookhaven won the first meeting, 98-81, on Feb. 8.

Mountain View finished 2-8 in Dallas Athletic Conference play. Brookhaven went 4-6.

Mountain View's Justice Marmara averages 11.9 points, five rebounds and 1.4 steals per game. He is shooting 53 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free throw line. Farai Mandhlazi is averaging 11.5 points and 6.4 rebounds, while shooting 55 percent from the floor. Jezrael De Jesus Fargas averages 10.5 points, 3.6 assists and one steal per game, while shooting 52.4 percent from the field.

Terry Moss III is scoring 9.4 points, while shooting 52 percent from the floor. Johnny DeWalt is averaging 7.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game, while shooting 63.5 percent from the field. Gabe Acay is scoring 7.9 points, and shooting 42 percent from three-point range. Devion Randle shares the team lead in assists per game (3.6), and is a 71 percent free throw shooter.

Mountain View beat Brookhaven, 75-74, in last year's district quarterfinals.

Tickets are $10 for a tournament pass for all games, $5 for adult single session of two games and $3 for students ages 6-18. Children under 6 are free. Dallas College students and employees with a current ID (must present at the gate) are free. Game programs are $2.
