Smith Picked DAC Men's Basketball Player of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Mountain View's Joshua Smith was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

A 6-foot-8 freshman forward from Plano, Texas, Smith averaged 26 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks per game as the Lions went 2-1. Smith had 35 points, 21 rebounds and four blocks in a 97-84 win over National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Jacksonville College. He also had 21 points on 10 of 13 shooting, six boards and two blocks in a 76-71 win over Southwestern Adventist University. Smith had 17 points, six rebounds and three blocks in a 108-88 loss to Southwestern Christian College.

Smith is averaging 18.9 points, 9.3 rebounds and three blocks per game.

Mountain View (4-4) will play at Paris Junior College 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
