Men's Basketball Nabs 10th Win

DALLAS – Dallas College Mountain View's men's basketball team secured its 10th win of the season Thursday, beating Arlington Baptist University Red Team, 126-93.

It was the Lions' fourth win of the month – all of which they've topped 100 points. The victory sends the Lions into the month-long holiday break with a 10-7 record.

Joshua Smith scored 33 points, and had 11 rebounds and six blocks. It was the second time he's reached 30 points in a game, and marked his 10th double-double of the year. He's had a double-double in seven straight games.

Xavier Peyton had 25 points on 12 of 16 shooting. Bryant Smith scored 17 points, and grabbed five rebounds. Cam Spencer and Daniel Cervantes each had 10 points. Spencer pulled down a season-high 16 rebounds.

Mountain View led, 64-49, at halftime.

The Lions shot 59 percent from the field, going 53 of 90.

Mountain View, which has scored over 120 points in three games this year, will return to the court Jan. 9 at Southwestern Christian College.
