Lions Buzz by Bees to Begin Final Round of DAC

MESQUITE, Texas – Dallas College Mountain View raced out to a 20-point halftime lead on its way to a 99-73 win over host Dallas College Eastfield Saturday.

The win was the Lions' second over the Harvester Bees this season to claim the regular season series. Mountain View (11-15, 4-7 Dallas Athletic Conference) sits in a three-way tie with Eastfield and Dallas College Cedar Valley with identical league records.

The Lions will play at second place Dallas College North Lake (12-14, 7-4) at 6 p.m. Wednesday in a game to air on the Blazers Network.

Mountain View built a 54-34 halftime lead, and shot 54 percent from the field to run away from the Bees (5-18, 4-7) in the first game of the third round of DAC play this season.

Five players scored in double figures for the Lions, including three starters. Ashton Price had 21 points, five assists and two steals. Adrian Banks score 18 points on 6 of 10 shooting, and grabbed five rebounds. Augustine Chibuko finished with 15 points, eight boards, six blocks and two steals. Tracy White scored 15 points off the bench, and Jordan Moreno had 10, while going 4-for-4 from the floor. Louis Conner had 11 of the Lions' 24 assists, while adding five steals and six points.

Mountain View sank 24 of 36 free throws.

The Lions' final two home games are Feb. 19 against Cedar Valley and third place Dallas College Brookhaven to end the regular season. The National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District Tournament runs Feb. 25-March 1.
