
Price Named DAC Player of Week
IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Mountain View's Ashton Price was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Player of the Week. It is the final weekly award of the season.
A 6-foot-4 sophomore swingman from Dallas, Price scored 67 points in a pair of one-possession games to close the regular season. He had 38 points in a two-point loss to Dallas College Cedar Valley, going 17 of 34 from the field. Price followed that up with 29 points on 12-for-20 shooting in a one-point win over Dallas College Brookhaven. He also had four rebounds, including three on the offensive glass, a steal and a block in the loss to Cedar Valley. He had three assists and two steals in the win over Brookhaven.
Price is averaging 23.7 points, while shooting 49.8 percent, 5.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Mountain View (12-18) will meet Cedar Valley (12-15) in Tuesday's National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District quarterfinals 8 p.m. Tuesday at Dallas College Brookhaven.
