Mountain View Hosts Richland Wednesday in Key DAC Game

DALLAS – Dallas College Mountain View men's soccer team hosts No. 1 Dallas College Richland in the final Dallas Athletic Conference game 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The Lions (9-4-2, 2-1-0 DAC) dropped the first game to Richland (9-2-1, 3-0-0) earlier this season 2-0. A win for Mountain View would leave both teams sporting identical league records.

Mountain View has won its last three games, outscoring those opponents 9-1. Richland is also riding a three-game win streak, having outscored the opposition 6-1.

The Lions' nine wins are the most since 2017 when they went 9-7-0.

Nathaniel Velasquez leads Mountain View with nine goals, seven assists and 25 points. Ramon Guardado has eight goals and an assist for 17 points. Blake Galvez and Jose Tudon each have five goals.

Lions goalkeeper Juan Perez is 7-1-0 with four combined shutouts and a 0.97 goals against average.

Richland's Abdiel Pineda, Luis Vargas and Maximilian Vega each have three goals. Alexis Cruz has two goals and two assists for six points.

Richland keeper Victor Gomez is 8-2-1 with five shutouts and a 1.11 goals against average.  

The National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South District Tournament is scheduled for Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at the site of the DAC champion.
