Sherrod Named DAC Player of Week

Dallas College Mountain View's Devon Sherrod and Dallas College Eastfield's Jamille Barnett has been named the Dallas Athletic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week.

Sherrod, a sophomore from Grand Prairie, Texas, had a double-double in a 71-52 win over National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Southwestern Christian College. She scored 27 points on 8 of 17 shooting, including 4 of 7 from three-point range, grabbed 15 rebounds, had six steals and three assists. She was 7 of 9 from the free throw line as the Lions improved to 7-5.

It is the second time this season Sherrod has claimed the league's weekly award. 

Sherrod is averaging 20.5 points, 9.4 rebounds, four steals and three assists per game.

Mountain View will host Southwestern Adventist University 4 p.m. Wednesday.
