Cohen Named DAC Player of Week

Dallas College Mountain View's Kimberly Cohen was named the Dallas Athletic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week.

A 5-foot-9-inch freshman forward from Keller, Texas, Cohen scored 23 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and had two assists, while shooting 9 of 13 from the field as Mountain View beat National Junior College Athletic Association Division III No. 7-ranked Dallas College Cedar Valley last week, 79-67.

Cohen matched a season-high with 23 points, and recorded her third straight double-double. It was her fourth double-double of the season, and it marked the sixth time she's reach double figures in scoring.

Cohen is averaging 8.4 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game.

Mountain View (10-7, 2-1 DAC) will play at Dallas College Richland 6 p.m. Thursday to finish the regular season. A win on Thursday would send the Lions on to a one-game playoff against Cedar Valley on Saturday, March 4 on a neutral court for a berth in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament.
