Dallas College Mountain View women's basketball player Devon Sherrod was named a National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Second Team All-American.

A sophomore guard from Grand Prairie, Texas, Sherrod averaged 21.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 4.3 steals per game this season as the Lions advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament for the first time in program history. In 43 games over three seasons, one of which was shortened by COVID-19, she scored 1,037 career points. She reached the 1,000-point milestone on her first basket at the national tournament in Rochester, Minnesota.

Voted the Dallas Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player and a First Team selection, Sherrod scored in double figures in all 20 games during the season. She scored a season-high 36 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and had four assists and three steals against the Dallas Angels on Jan. 24. She had 33 points, 10 boards, eight steals, five assists and a block in a win at Dallas College Richland Feb. 23.

Sherrod scored over 20 points in 12 games this season. In her career, she scored in double figures in every game but one. Her career-high of 40 points on 17 of 23 field goals came in the 2021-22 season opening win at Southwestern Adventist University.
