Women's Basketball Wins Sixth Straight

DALLAS – Dallas College Mountain View's women's basketball team is on a roll.

The Lions captured their sixth straight win Monday, beating Southwestern Adventist University, 75-64. All the wins have come within an eight-day span.

Germari Harris finished with 22 points, 11 assists and nine steals. She was 9 of 20 shooting. LyTaisha Jefferson had 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Shaniia Davison had 10 points and 10 rebounds, and shot 5 of 10 from the floor. Kimberly Cohen had eight points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals.

Every Lions player who entered the game scored at least five points.

Mountain View (7-5) pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Knights (1-6) by a 27-15 margin after trailing 29-28 at halftime.

The Lions were 30 of 75 from the field. The Knights shot 24 of 58. Both teams knocked down 12 free throws.

Sarah Valderrama had 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Kaitlyn Quintero scored 10 for Southwestern Adventist.

Mountain View outrebounded Southwestern Adventist, 62-39.

The Lions will host Clarendon College 4 p.m. Friday after final exams conclude before taking a near six-week break for the holidays.
