Mountain View Places Three on All-DAC Teams, Harris Newcomer of Year

DALLAS – Dallas College Mountain View women's basketball's Germari Harris was voted the Dallas Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year.

Harris also was named First Team All-DAC. Lions teammates LyTaisha Jefferson and Saniya Black earned Second Team All-DAC honors.

A 5-foot-7 sophomore guard from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Harris averaged 22.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game. She shot 56 percent from the field, 47.2 percent from three-point range and 60.7 percent from the free throw line. Harris scored a season-high 43 points, going 15 of 25 from the floor, in a win at Houston Community College Dec. 2.

A 5-4 freshman guard from Fort Worth, Texas, Jefferson averaged 12.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals. She shot 52 percent from the field, 35.3 percent from long distance and 60 percent from the free throw line. Jefferson had a season-high 23 points, connecting on 10 of 12 field goals, in a win at Dallas College Richland Jan. 18.

A 5-8 freshman guard from Dallas, Black averaged 9.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals. She shot 31 percent from 3-point land and 63 percent from the free throw stripe. Black scored a season-high 18 points, knocking down 6 of 11 field goals, in a win at Tomball College Dec. 1.
