DALLAS – Jourdan Jones scored a season-high 28 points as Dallas College Mountain View women's basketball team tripped up 12th-ranked Dallas College Richland, 71-54, Thursday night.
Jones was 8 of 13 from the field, and sank 9 of 11 free throws, while grabbing seven rebounds as Mountain View outscored Richland, 24-7, in the fourth quarter.
The Lions (8-9, 1-1 Dallas Athletic Conference) moved back within a game of the .500 mark.
Mountain View shot 47 percent from the field, and sank 20 of 28 free throws. Richland (9-7, 0-1) was held to 31 percent shooting, while going 12 of 17 from the free throw line.
Asia Zachary added 17 points, eight rebounds and two steals for the Lions, who outrebounded the Thunderducks, 38-27.
Paris Beard scored 18 points, and grabbed 11 rebounds for Richland, which committed 20 turnovers. Mountain View had 10.
The Lions host the University of Arkansas Cossatot 3 p.m. Saturday and Nelson University Junior Varsity 5 p.m. Monday.
