Jones Voted DAC Most Valuable Player
DALLAS – Dallas College Mountain View women's basketball's Jourdan Jones was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player.
Teammate Asia Zachary was chosen as the league Newcomer of the Year.
Both received First Team-All DAC honors. Kianna Jones was a Second Team All-DAC pick.
A freshman guard from Dallas, Jourdan Jones averaged 20.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game for the Lions. She shot 50.5 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from 3-point range and 78.5 percent from the field.
A freshman guard from Killeen, Texas, Zachary averaged 10.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.
A freshman guard from Lewisville, Texas, Kianna Jones averaged 8.1 points, while shooting 42.3 percent from the floor. She pulled down nearly three rebounds per game, while coming away with a steal per contest.
Mountain View went 11-14 overall, advancing to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Central District championship.
