Lions Women's Soccer Earns Three All-DAC Awards

DALLAS – Three Dallas College Mountain View women's soccer players earned All-Dallas Athletic Conference honors.

Sophomore forward Angelique Garfias was named First Team All-DAC, while freshman goalkeeper Nayomy Cueva and sophomore midfielder Kayla Sotelo were Second Team selections.

Garfias, a product of Waxahachie, Texas, scored nine goals, including one game winner. She had 18 points. Garfias scored all four goals in a 4-1 win over Arlington Baptist University. She scored in each of her last three games.

Cueva, of Frisco, Texas, made 112 saves, and recorded one shutout in 15 starts. She posted double-digit saves in seven games, including three in a row. Cueva stopped 18 shots against eventual National Junior College Athletic Association Division III national champion Dallas College Brookhaven.

Sotelo, a native of Arlington, Texas, had two assists. Both of her assists came in the final two games of the season, including the 4-1 win over Arlington Baptist.
