Lions Capture First DAC Win

DALLAS – Dallas College Mountain View women's soccer team beat Dallas College Eastfield 3-2 in a Dallas Athletic Conference match Tuesday.

The Lions (2-1-0, 1-1-0 DAC) won their first one-goal game in three years.

Mountain View scored the first two goals, taking a 2-0 lead at the half. Stephanie Arreola had an unassisted goal in the ninth minute. Josselin Magana made it 2-0 when she converted a pass from Keilana Ramirez in the 43rd minute.

Mountain View outshot Eastfield 7-3 in the first half.

Eastfield's Aleksus Gonzalez scored both of the Harvester Bees' goals. In the first minute of the second half, she scored on an assist from Laila Davalo to cut the Lions' lead in half.

Mountain View's Maribel Vivar scored an unassisted goal in the 58th minute to put the Lions ahead 3-1.

Gonzalez's second goal came in the 65th minute on an assist from Danielle Madole.

Mountain View finished with 16 shots. Eastfield (1-6-0, 1-1-0) had 12 shots.

Lions goalkeeper Valarie Arellano had seven saves. Eastfield's Araly Hernandez and Aspen Zesiger split halves in goal. Hernandez stopped four shots. Zesiger had six saves.

Mountain View hosts Dallas College North Lake, which is seeking its first win, 6 p.m. Friday.
