Volleyball Sweeps Southwestern Adventist

DALLAS – Dallas College Mountain View's volleyball team swept Southwestern Adventist University in a nonconference match Tuesday, winning, 25-22, 25-15, 25-14.

It was the Lions' second sweep this season.

The Lions matched their season high with 15 aces. It was the fifth match in the last six they had 10 or more aces. Kahmya Rice matched her season high with four aces, and Ceciliana Pena and Destinee Johnson each had three.

Mountain View had 11 kills, and hit .300 in the second set to seize control of the match. The Lions polished off the sweep with 13 kills in the third set.

Johnson had nine kills a .444 attack percentage. Tailor Perkins had eight kills and two blocks. Nyah Bumpas had six kills. Skylar Daniels finished with 22 digs and an ace. Pena added 13 digs. Jade McCafferty had 18 assists and two aces, and Briana Cordoba nine assists and an ace.

Mountain View (5-15, 0-1 Dallas Athletic Conference) returns to league play to host Dallas College North Lake (8-12, 0-1) on Faculty/Staff Night 6 p.m. Thursday. The Lions host Rose State College (2-8) in another nonconference match 1 p.m. Saturday.
