Mountain View Sweeps Cedar Valley in First DAC Victory

DALLAS – Dallas College Mountain View's volleyball team picked up its first conference win of the season, sweeping Dallas College Cedar Valley, 25-13, 25-20, 25-20, Monday.

The victory came in the Lions' Pink Out match to end the first half of Dallas Athletic Conference play. It was the third sweep of the season for the Lions.

Nyah Bumpas had nine kills, and hit .273. Sydnei Pena had eight kills, nine digs and a block. Tailor Perkins had six kills, and hit .400. Kendricia Johnson had five kills and two blocks. Dakota Butler had four kills and three blocks. Briana Cordoba had 19 assists, five aces and eight digs. Ceciliana Pena had 23 digs and an ace. Skylar Daniels had 14 digs and an ace.

Mountain View finished with 10 aces. It was the 10th time this season the Lions have ripped off 10 or more aces.

The Lions had 14 kills in the second set and 12 in the third.

Mountain View (6-19, 1-4 DAC) plays at Southwestern Adventist University 6 p.m. Tuesday.
